Classroom Books

BCSCR is providing “libraries” of book sets that teachers can check-out to use with their students. Book sets, available from the regional coordinator, are accompanied by instructional activities. Each set contains a classroom set and lesson ideas. For unit plans that accompany these books, see the unit plan page here.  All unit plans are available to view/download.

Classroom book sets from BCSCR provide teachers, and students, the opportunity to expand their reading and instructional options. Just one more way that BCSCR helps support reading instruction, leading to more kids reading and more kids reading well!

What are Classroom Book Sets?

Book sets contain a classroom set of books. They are accompanied by instructional activities that teachers can choose to use as they read and study the books with their students. (You can also download the unit plans on the unit plan page.)

In 4th through 6th grade, each “tub” of books contains three titles, either 3 fiction or 3 nonfiction titles, geared toward varying reading levels. In this way the book sets provide opportunities to differentiate instruction and make reading most productive for all students.

How to Get a Book Set:

To check out a book set, contact the regional coordinator in your area. After the check out period, the coordinator will pick them up from you so they may be delivered to another teacher.
